SHIRAKAWA-GO / A WINTER AFTERGLOW — JNX Studio Created 2026-10-05, interpretive 3D architectural winter landscape. GEOGRAPHY - Geospatial Information Authority of Japan (GSI): DEM10B, dem_png at zoom 14. https://maps.gsi.go.jp/development/ichiran.html Source tiles retained in tiles/. Continuous bilinear elevation surface, local snow cover added. - OpenStreetMap contributors, ODbL 1.0: building footprints, orientation, roads and river centreline. https://www.openstreetmap.org/copyright API extract: https://api.openstreetmap.org/api/0.6/map?bbox=136.900,36.250,136.918,36.269 Retained as shirakawa.osm. Local origin 136.9065 E, 36.2585 N; X east, Y north, Z metres above 490m. VISUAL REFERENCES (viewed; photos NOT redistributed or used as textures) - JNTO, Shirakawa-go snow travel: https://www.japan.travel/en/sports/snow/snow-travel/shirakawa-go/ Snow-loaded steep gassho roofs; timber facades, shoji warmth, village/mountain setting. - JNTO Shirakawa-go: https://www.japan.travel/en/spot/2031/ - Shirakawa village, gassho architecture: https://kankou.shirakawa-go.org/2688.htm AUTHORED ASSETS House roof profiles, timber framing, shoji grids, snow volumes, icicles, village furniture, forest, window lighting and visitors are authored. Procedural cedar/thatch/snow/stone maps and normal maps were generated for this project. Exact supplied JNX logo is retained and packed. Music reuses the project's existing /tokyo/audio/evening-walk.mp3. LIMITS This is NOT a photogrammetric scan, complete surveyed reconstruction, or official event model. OSM records do not classify every roof: known thatch/heritage houses use steep roofs; some unclassified houses are inferred. House dimensions follow minimum rotated footprint rectangles; heights, facade details, plant placement, snow depth and river width are estimates. Snowfall, walkers, time and illumination are art-directed simulations, not live weather, visitor tracking, astronomical calculation, or the official winter light-up schedule. Blender images are fixed night renders. Web supports dynamic snow, light and camera controls. 2026-10-06 — Winter lighting and village life retrofit (Web runtime) Five artistic light controls: Kelvin temperature, geographic azimuth, elevation, key strength and fill. Daylight, golden side-light and cool dusk presets; time-following retains soft cool moonlight at night. Existing 19:00 start, 80% window lamps, light snow and 20% music retained. 96 winter visitors with hats, scarves, varied coats, swinging limbs and occasional pauses. 18 walking routes projected onto Blender compacted-snow surfaces, with height, snowbank and obstruction checks. 8 small vehicles use 4 of 8 verified road sections near the village, at 3 m/s with left-hand traffic and one-way flags. Vehicle scale and lane offset match the narrower 4 m roads; body pitch follows slope. Fade over 9 m at route endpoints. No full traffic signal or collision simulation. Walking routes use separate mapped pedestrian/path categories; intersections remain illustrative. 18 birds in three flocks; flight clearance checked against terrain, buildings and trees. Village snow, pedestrians, cars, bird wings and clouds share one pause. Snow particle positions also freeze while moving the camera during pause. Snow quantity and window lighting remain independently adjustable. New Winter Village Life camera. Original architecture, editable Blender file and fixed Cycles renders preserved; no public deployment. Routes: /shirakawa/city-life.json. Generator and QA: output/shirakawago-snow/life-upgrade/.
